We intentionally plan for every child in Year 6 to take on a role of responsibility at our school for the academic year. Every child engages in a full recruitment process, which includes submitting an application form, attending a Recruitment Day, agrees to the job description, completes an induction / onboarding process.  

The roled available include: 

• Librarian
• House Captains
• Sports Leaders
• Assembly Prefects
• Eco and Sustainability Leader
• Early Years Leaders

One pupil leadership role is an elected role, known at Roxbourne as a Member of the Roxbourne Pupil Parliament. Six pupils in Year 6 form the Pupil Parliament Cabinet Team (this includes the role of Prime Minster). Two pupils from each year group join the cabinet to form the full parliament and they meet with the headteacher weekly to discuss and improve aspects of school life.
